Attestation, Certifications and Legal Licenses

Attestation is the act of showing or evidence showing that something is true.

Reporting on financial projections made by a client. Reporting on pro forma financial information formulated by a client. Reporting on how well the internal controls in a client process function.

Attestation services are when a certified public accountant (CPA) expresses a conclusion about the reliability of a company's financial statements.

#3 types of attestation services

  • 1. Compilation

Often a small business cannot afford to have an accounting staff, so they may outsource their financial statement preparation. When a CPA (certified public accountant) prepares these statements, it is called a compilation.

  • 2. Review

Reviews are generally intended for lenders and other outside parties to receive a limited assurance with the completeness and accuracy of the financial statements.

  • 3. Audit

An audit is used if you need to provide creditors, investors and others with reasonable assurance about whether your company's financial statements are free from material misstatement.

Certification Service Provider (CSP)

CSP is an agent certified under the Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Agreement to perform all the seller's sales and use tax functions, other than the seller's obligation to remit tax on its own purchases.

Certificate Services checks each request against custom or site-specific policies, sets optional properties for a certificate to be issued, and issues the certificate.

Legal Licenses

A business arrangement in which one company gives another company permission to manufacture its product for a specified payment. There are few faster or more profitable ways to grow your business than by licensing patents, trademarks, copyrights, designs, and other intellectual property to others.
